    District Collectors receive safety instructions from Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari amidst heavy rainfall

    The Chief Secretary of Telangana State, Santhi Kumari, has instructed district authorities to take necessary measures to ensure the safety of people in districts that are expected to receive heavy rain in the next two days. Santhi Kumari held a teleconference with senior officials and Collectors from several districts to discuss the situation.

    She informed the officials about the red and orange alerts issued by the IMD, indicating a threat of heavy rainfall. She emphasized the importance of preventing loss of human life and minimizing damage to property. Santhi Kumari asked the officials to identify low-lying areas and closely monitor the situation to be prepared for any emergency.

    The collectors were instructed to set up control rooms in their respective offices. The revenue, police, irrigation, panchayat raj, electricity, and R&B departments were urged to work together and take preventive measures. The irrigation officials were particularly reminded to be on high alert for breaches in irrigation tanks and to have sand bags ready.

    The Secretary of Disaster Management, Rahul Bojja, reported that low-lying areas, vulnerable causeways, and bridges have already been identified. The DG Fire Services, Nagi Reddy, assured that necessary equipment has been deployed in all district offices and the department is ready to provide assistance in case of emergencies.
