New Diet Menu Unveiled at Telangana Tribal Welfare School
In Wanaparthy district, District Collector Adarsh Surabhi recently visited the Telangana Tribal Welfare Residential School in Marrikunta. The event was held to introduce a new common diet menu chart, designed to improve the physical and mental health of students. During his visit, the Collector highlighted the importance of utilizing government support for education and personal growth.
The Collector addressed the increase in mess charges, explaining that the state government has raised the rates by 40% for meals and 200% for cosmetic supplies in government hostels. He emphasized that Telangana stands out for its unique initiative of providing extensive support through residential schools and colleges. “Make the most of these opportunities,” he encouraged the students.
As a motivational gesture, Collector Surabhi promised a special trip for students who perform exceptionally well in the upcoming Inter Board exams. The top performers will get an opportunity to visit prestigious institutions like IIT or Osmania University in Hyderabad. He urged students to dream big and work hard to achieve their goals.
In addition to academics, the Collector gave practical advice to students. He discouraged them from bringing food from home and emphasized the importance of hygiene, such as washing hands before meals and maintaining cleanliness after physical activities.
During the interaction, students expressed interest in forming a mess committee to oversee food quality and supplies. The Collector supported the idea and encouraged its implementation, stressing the importance of student involvement in maintaining standards.
The event ended on a positive note as the Collector joined students and their parents for a meal, fostering a sense of community. Cultural dance performances added vibrancy to the day, delighting everyone present.
The gathering was attended by Special Officer Khagawan, Principal Saraswati of the Tribal Welfare School, teachers, staff, students, and parents. This collaborative event showcased the collective effort to create a supportive educational environment for the youth in the region.
