On Thursday, the Collector visited the Government Area Hospital in Gadwal. He inspected different departments, including male and female wards, the ICU, the children’s ward, radiology lab, emergency unit, physiotherapy center, and the hospital surroundings. He also spoke with patients to hear their opinions about the services they were receiving.
During his visit, the Collector told doctors and staff to focus on improving the quality of treatment. He also looked at the site for the upcoming Unique Disability ID (UDID) camp. The Collector told the District Medical and Health Officer (DMHO) to run awareness programs, especially about mammography and other important services. He emphasized that doctors must follow their work schedules and submit monthly attendance reports. He also called for hiring more medical staff where needed.
In the casualty ward, he looked at the outpatient and referral registers. He said that the hospital should provide all important medical services on-site to avoid sending patients elsewhere. He also asked for more seating areas to be added for patients and their families.
To improve traffic and comfort outside the hospital, the Collector suggested building a parking shed and organizing vehicle parking better. He repeated that all necessary medical services should be available within the hospital for the benefit of the public.
