In a major move for the development of the Jogulamba Bala Brahmeswara Swamy Temple in Alampur, District Collector B.M. Santosh has instructed officials to create a detailed action plan. This plan will focus on improving the temple’s spiritual, pilgrimage, and tourism potential.
A review meeting was held on Tuesday at the IDOC Video Conference Hall under the leadership of the District Collector. Members of the Temple Development and Monitoring Committee attended the meeting to discuss strategies for enhancing the temple’s infrastructure and tourism appeal. The temple is Telangana’s only Shakti Peetha, making its development even more significant.
Temple Renovation and Modernization
Architect Surya Narayana Murthy presented a blueprint for the temple’s expansion and renovation. The District Collector stressed the need for better amenities for devotees, improvements in the temple surroundings, and the creation of an integrated master plan for development.

1. Water Supply for PRASAD Scheme Building
– Officials were directed to survey water quality from the nearby river.
– They must submit cost estimates within 15 days.
2. PRASAD Scheme Building Handover
– The Tourism Department was ordered to transfer the building to the Endowments Department immediately.
3. Road Connectivity Improvements
– Plans will be made to improve roads from Gandhi Junction to the temple for smoother access.
4. Better Drainage and Clean Water Facilities
– The Municipal Commissioner will work on improving the temple’s drainage system.
– Drinking water facilities and a cloakroom will be set up.
Enhancing Visitor Experience
1. Signboards & Tourist Facilities
– Directional signs will be placed along the Hyderabad-Kurnool-Alampur routes.
– Guidance boards will be installed at key intersections.
– Bus stops and auto stands will be upgraded.
– Beautification projects, including wall paintings, will be carried out.
2. Parking & Landscaping
– The tourism department was asked to plant trees in the parking area.
– More public toilets will be built.
