District Collector Jitesh V. has urged bankers to cooperate in providing timely loans to the communities to help achieve government goals. The meeting took place in the IDOC office’s meeting hall on Saturday. Officials reviewed the disbursement of loans to farmers, recovery of loans from Swashakti Sanghas, PM Swanidhi loans, formation of FPOs, and other related issues.

As of now, Rs.1400.24 crores have been provided out of the current year’s crop loan target of 2710 crores. The collector reviewed the disbursement of farmer loans bank-wise and inquired about low disbursements by HDFC Bank and ICICI. It was emphasized that farmers need to be informed about loan renewals, and special camps should be organized by bankers in coordination with the district agriculture department.

The collector stressed that certain funds like Raitubandhu, Rythu Bima, and Prime Minister Kisan Samman cannot be used for crop loans, and bankers must adhere to the rules. Steps were ordered to expedite the pending loan proposals in the district and provide them to bankers promptly. Additionally, details of groups in rural areas and Mepma teams in cities should be shared with banks for quick processing of loans.

Efforts to recover NPA loans of Swashakti Sanghas were highlighted, along with the need for bankers to support youth employment initiatives. Awareness about government schemes and subsidies should be promoted to help generate income for the people. Specifically, necessary loans for vegetable cultivation, nurseries, cold storage, and agricultural implements were recommended to facilitate farming in the tribal-dominated district.
