Gadwal: Jogulamba Gadwal District Collector, B. M. Santosh, has asked officials to make sure the Mahila Shakti Scheme is carried out effectively. This message was delivered during a review meeting held on Wednesday at the District Collectorate. The meeting focused on the progress of the Mahila Shakti initiatives and was attended by bankers and officials from relevant departments.
During the meeting, the Collector stressed the importance of teamwork among officials to meet the goals set for the Mahila Shakti Scheme in all mandals of the district. He highlighted the need to focus on different areas such as micro-enterprises, school uniform stitching units, backyard poultry, poultry mother units, food processing units, and milk parlors. The Collector reviewed the progress of these initiatives on a mandal-wise basis, asking about the number of units identified, how many have been established, and what still needs to be done. He also shared advice on how to carefully implement these initiatives.
Collector Santosh instructed that detailed plans should be made at the mandal level to ensure the setup of units and to arrange bank loans according to the scheme’s goals. He emphasized the importance of accurate progress reports and mentioned that field visits might be necessary. The Collector asked APDs and DPMs to take full responsibility for field-level activities to help women in the district achieve financial independence. He encouraged them to work hard and make sure there are no gaps in the implementation process, contributing to the overall empowerment of women.
The meeting was attended by several important officials, including Additional Collector and DRDO Narsinga Rao, LDM Ayyappa Reddy, Additional DRDO Narasimhulu, District Project Managers Vilas Rao and Rammurthy, APDs, DPMs, bank managers from various departments, and members of Mahila Shakti Groups.
