Gadwal’s District Collector, B.M. Santosh, warned residents of low-lying areas about heavy rains expected in the next two days. During a tele-conference with district officials, Santosh stressed the need for immediate precautions to prevent losses and accidents due to flooding.
Officials were instructed to evacuate residents from unsafe houses and ensure that pond dams do not breach. They were also advised to stay alert and not take vacation leaves to monitor their areas closely.
The Collector emphasized safety measures like keeping people away from electric poles, preventing accidents, ensuring uninterrupted power supply, and conducting sanitation programs every Friday to prevent diseases.
The tele-conference was attended by District Additional Collectors, ZP CEO, District Panchayat Officer, and Municipal Commissioners. Residents should follow safety measures provided by the district administration to minimize the impact of heavy rains.
