Around 2.60 lakh volunteers will distribute sacred rice called Akshats in 13,000 village panchayats across Telangana from January 1 to 15. These Akshats were brought from Ayodhya to Telangana by Dr. Ravinuthala Sashidhar after an Akshat Puja held at Ram Mandir on November 5. Representatives from each state participated in the puja and took the sacred vessel containing the Akshats back to their respective states.
The distribution of Akshats is being organized by the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust (SRJTKT) from January 1 to 15. Around one lakh people are involved in coordinating this program, including volunteers from different organizations, civil society members, women, youth, community organizations, political parties, and others.
In the past month, there have been several meetings and preparations for the distribution of Akshats. Each village has about 20 volunteers who will deliver the Akshats to households. They will also provide a replica of the Grand Ram Mandir and a handout with instructions for the Prana Prastisha of Ram Lalla on January 22.
The distribution of Akshats is part of the call given by the SRJTKT. It is also encouraged to light Diyas or earthen lamps to mark the occasion of Prana Prastisha, signifying the return of Lord Ram to Ayodhya Nagari.
There will be a daily review of the distribution of Akshats, and necessary steps will be taken to ensure that even the remotest villages in the state receive them.
