On Saturday, Nizam era silver coins were discovered in Gollapally village located in Timmapur mandal of Karimnagar district. The coins were found by workers who were excavating soil in the village as part of the employment guarantee scheme. However, a fight broke out among the workers when they tried to divide the treasure amongst themselves, and news of the discovery was leaked to the public. As a result, authorities intervened and the local tahsildar was called to investigate the matter.

The laborers were ordered to hand over the coins to the government, and upon investigation, it was revealed that a total of 27 silver coins were found in two earthen pots. The Department of Archeology determined that the coins were in circulation from 1869 to 1911 during the reign of Mir Mahbub Ali Nawab Khan.
