The State government in Hyderabad has decided to distribute new digital cards to the beneficiaries of Aarogyasri through public representatives in districts. This decision was made during a board meeting at the Aarogyasri Health Care Trust office, chaired by Health Minister T Harish Rao. The government has increased the Aarogyasri limit from Rs 2 lakh to Rs 5 lakh, and the beneficiaries will now receive the new digital cards. The minister has instructed officials to quickly complete the e-KYC process for the beneficiaries.

During the meeting, Rao also directed officials to conduct medical audits of Aarogyasri cases by NIMS specialist doctors. He announced an additional incentive of Rs 1.3 crore for the ENT Hospital at Koti, which had successfully performed 856 black fungus surgeries during the Covid pandemic. Currently, Koti ENT Hospital provides free cochlear implant surgeries for deaf and dumb children. The meeting also decided to form a committee to offer this service at MGM Warangal.

The government has made efforts to improve healthcare facilities in the State. Before the formation of the State, there were only three dialysis centres. However, the government has increased the number to 103, making dialysis services more accessible for kidney patients. These centres have been set up within the constituency, eliminating the need for patients to travel to remote areas. The board has also granted permission to develop special software for online monitoring, aiming to enhance the quality of dialysis services.

In addition, Aarogyasri now allows patients to use face recognition software. This decision was made to provide services in a more transparent manner, addressing difficulties faced with the biometric system.
