Bhadrachalam, also known as South Ayodhya, is hoping for a makeover with the announcement of funds for the development of spiritual hubs like Bhadradri and Nagoba temples by the Chief Minister (CM). However, previous promises made by the government have not been fulfilled. The government had allocated Rs150 crore for the development of Bhadrachalam Devasthanam, but no money was released.

The CM is expected to attend the celestial wedding of Lord Rama on April 17, and people are optimistic that he will take notice of the state of affairs in the temple town and announce plans for its improvement. Rs 6 crore has already been allocated for works at Bhadradri and Nagoba temples, with an additional Rs 20 crore for the Vemulawada temple.

In the past, the town was neglected by the government for a decade. The CM had visited the town only twice in 2015 and 2016, announcing a total of Rs 150 crore funds infusion. However, due to lack of funds, these plans remained on paper even after a team of China Jeeyar Swamy and endowment officials inspected the temple surroundings.

A devotee of Lord Rama, K Srinivas Sharma, has urged the government to release adequate funds for the main events of Sri Rama Navami and Mukkoti festivals at Bhadradri. Currently, the temple incurs an expenditure of Rs 5 crore for both events, but the government only spends Rs 15,000 every year for Sri Rama Navami.

Overall, the people of Bhadrachalam are hopeful that the CM’s visit and allocation of funds will lead to the much-needed development and improvement of the town.
