Despite clear orders from the government, many private and corporate colleges in Hyderabad are continuing to be arbitrary by organizing classes during the summer holidays. This has caused difficulties for students who were supposed to have a break until June 1, according to the Telangana Board of Intermediate Education’s academic calendar.

These colleges have started classes a week after the end of the inter examinations, claiming that it is for better results and to prepare second-year students for their upcoming year. However, parents have complained that their children are being forced to attend classes during their summer vacation, and that the real purpose of holding classes is to prevent students from approaching other colleges.

Although many lecturers are currently engaged in examination paper evaluation, classes are still being organized by these colleges. The board has planned 227 working days and 77 vacation/off days for junior colleges in the next academic year, with at least 220 working days required. Half-yearly examinations will be held a month later in November, and the Sankranti holidays will take place between January 13 and January 16.

Despite the government’s orders, no action has been taken against any college by the board so far. This has boosted the morale of the management, who are continuing to organize classes during the summer holidays. The officials have clarified that advanced supplementary for this year will be held in the last week of May.
