Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka criticized Union Minister G Kishan Reddy’s claim that Telangana had received Rs 10 lakh crore from the Centre in the last 10 years. Vikramarka stated that the State actually only received Rs 3,70,235 crore, calling the Union minister’s statement misleading.

During a meet the press program in the city, Vikramarka challenged the Centre to provide statistical data on the funds released to Telangana during the BJP’s 10-year rule. He also blamed the previous TRS government for putting the state in a deep financial crisis with a Rs 7 lakh-crore debt burden before the Congress took over last year.

Vikramarka questioned former CM K Chandrashekhar for diverting Rs 7,000 crore meant for the Rythu Bandhu scheme before the elections, leaving the State exchequer with zero balance. He also criticized the previous government for releasing water indiscriminately during elections, causing a serious water crisis across the State this summer.

He expressed disappointment that Mission Bhagiratha was not successful in preventing a drinking water crisis in the State. The government has allocated Rs.100 crore to address this issue and ensure there is no drinking water crisis in Hyderabad this summer.

Vikramarka remains confident that the government will successfully lead the State for five years despite challenges from rival parties. He assured that efforts are underway to increase State revenues without imposing additional tax burdens on the people.
