Five MLAs who recently defected to Congress did not attend the first day of the budget session in Hyderabad. The other five MLAs who did attend the session sat in the back and stayed silent.

Everyone was watching the MLAs who had switched from the BRS party to Congress. On the first day, all MLAs wore their traditional attire. Congress MLAs wore TriColour scarves, BJP MLAs had saffron and green scarves, BRS MLAs sported pink scarves, and the lone CPI MLA, K Sambasiva Rao, wore a red scarf.

The defected MLAs who joined Congress did not wear any scarves. Among those present were Kadiyam Srihari, K Yadaiah, T Venkat Rao, Mahipal Reddy, and Pocharam Srinivas Reddy. Interestingly, Pocharam Srinivas Reddy had a differently colored scarf. These MLAs sat quietly in the back rows and did not speak on the first day.
