The Formula E-Prix car race will be held in Hyderabad, India in 2023. The race is part of the calendar organized by the Federation International Automobiles (FIA) and will take place in major cities in 13 countries. The state government of Hyderabad has entered into an agreement with Greenco to manage the race.

The race track, which is 2.75 km long with seven turns, has been designed around NTR Garden on Hussainsagar in Hyderabad. Greenco is responsible for the international level arrangements and management of the race, while the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) has taken care of the track arrangements.

India has been selected again for the 2024 calendar schedule of the Formula E-Prix car race. The race will take place on February 10, 2024 in Hyderabad. However, the arrangements for the race have not yet started.

For the previous Formula E-Car Race held on February 11, 2023, HMDA bore the cost of constructing the track and other infrastructure. The promoter company took care of all other management arrangements. But for the race scheduled in 2024, no organization has come forward to organize it.

It is now the responsibility of the state government to make arrangements for the race. This includes managing the race track, necessary arrangements, marketing, campaigns, and providing facilities for racers from different countries. The estimated cost for these arrangements is about Rs.200 crores.

The government has already paid Rs.50 crore to an organization for making arrangements for the second Formula E-Race. However, doubts have arisen about whether the government will be willing to bear another Rs.150 crore for the management and arrangements of the race.

While organizing a street circuit race in Hyderabad gained international fame, it also caused criticism due to traffic problems in the city. The new government’s stance on organizing the race is uncertain.

Representatives of FIA from different countries have met with Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to discuss the organizing and arrangements of the race. The government has asked for details on how the race will affect the state’s economic development.

There are concerns about whether the government will agree to conduct the race and if there is enough time to explain its benefits. The government administration has announced that the Indian Race League will be held on November 4 and 5 at the Hussainsagar street circuit, but it will not be able to support the race during the election.

As a result, the Indian Race League, which was supposed to take place in Hyderabad, has been canceled and moved to Chennai. The league administrators have complained about suffering a significant loss due to this change.
