The State Drugs Control Administration (DCA) in Hyderabad has uncovered a fake antibiotics operation. The fake antibiotics were being shipped from Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh to Hyderabad. The DCA seized fake antibiotics worth Rs 22.95 lakh.

The DCA received credible information about the entry of counterfeit drugs into the state through courier services. They kept an eye on various courier offices, including Trackon Couriers Pvt Ltd in Uppal. On December 30, the DCA officials identified the receipt of five cartons from Ghaziabad in the name of Puvvada Lakshman, who is a habitual offender and was previously involved in a spurious drug racket.
