Hyderabad: The Telangana State Drug Control Administration (TSDCA) has suspended the drug licenses of 20 medical shops in the city. These shops were caught selling drugs illegally.
The TSDCA took action after receiving information from the Commissioner’s Task Force in Hyderabad. Drug inspectors carried out several raids on these medical shops. They found that the shops were selling habit-forming drugs like Codeine-containing cough syrups, Nitravet (Nitrazepam) tablets, Restyl (Alprazolam) tablets, Ultracet tablets (Tramadol), and Tydol tablets (Tapentadol).
During the raids, TSDCA confirmed that these shops were selling drugs that are classified under Schedule H1 and Schedule X of the Drugs Rules. These drugs have a high potential for addiction and should not be sold without proper authorization.
