    Illegal Drug Warehouse Raided in Uppal

    The Telangana Drugs Control Administration (DCA) raided an illegal drug warehouse in Laxmi Narayana Nagar Colony, Uppal, on Tuesday. Officials seized medicines worth ₹6.70 lakh that were being stored without a valid license.

    During the raid, DCA officers caught Addanki Venkata Suresh Babu, who had been stocking medicines illegally. The action was taken after receiving information about unauthorized drug storage.

    Officials discovered a large quantity of medicines, including expired drugs, abortion kits, painkillers, and antihistamines. The seized samples have been sent for further analysis, and an investigation is ongoing.

    The DCA warned that storing medicines without a valid drug license is a serious offense under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act. Those found guilty could face up to five years in prison. Officials also assured strict action against wholesalers and dealers involved in illegal drug activities.

    Authorities urged the public to report any suspicious drug-related activities, including the illegal sale or manufacture of medicines. Citizens can report such cases by calling the DCA’s toll-free number, 1800-599-6969, available from 10:30 AM to 5 PM on all working days.
