The 52nd District Children’s Science Exhibition, organized by the District Education Department, began on Saturday in Karimnagar. The event is being held at St. George International School in Kottapalli and will continue until December 2.
Speaking at the event, District Collector Pamela Satpathy stressed the importance of encouraging students to develop a questioning mindset. She explained that when students ask questions from an early age, it helps build scientific thinking, fosters innovation, and contributes to progress.
The Collector shared that many famous scientists came from various social backgrounds yet succeeded due to their unique problem-solving abilities and creative thinking developed during their childhood. She urged students to draw inspiration from their lives.
Satpathy also emphasized the need to promote critical thinking in education. She encouraged teachers to help students move beyond rote memorization by focusing on understanding and expressing what they learn. When students grasp the meaning behind their studies, they are better equipped to identify challenges and find solutions.
Additionally, she advocated for integrating key principles like comprehension, articulation, and freedom of thought into the educational process. She highlighted the value of even small innovations, noting that they often lead to solving larger problems. Finally, she advised students to explore all exhibits at the science fair rather than limiting their attention to their own projects.
