    In Gadwal, ZP Chairperson Sarita urged citizens to work together to make the district drug-free on the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Trafficking. An awareness rally called Mission Parivartan was organized by the District Women and Child Welfare Department, with District Collector B.M. Santhosh, ZP Chairperson Sarita, and SP T se Srinivasa Rao inaugurating the event. Sarita emphasized the importance of educating students about the dangers of drug use during the rally.

    She advised youth to focus on their studies and avoid drugs to secure a bright future. District Collector B. M. Santosh highlighted that the day has been celebrated annually since 1989. Sarita stressed the significance of the day and urged citizens to report drug dealers to the police.

    SP Srinivasa Rao called for collective efforts to eliminate drug addiction, mentioning that the police department in the district is implementing strict measures. An anti-narcotics bureau has been set up in each police station to effectively tackle drug-related issues.

    The event concluded with participants taking selfies and unveiling posters related to the program in the IDOC conference hall. District Welfare Officer Sudharani, Additional SP Gunasekhar, officers from various departments, students, youth, local public representatives, and others participated in the program. District Collector BM Santosh, ZP Chairperson Sarita, SP Srinivasa Rao, and others took selfies at the selfie point set up under the name ‘I am Anti-Drug Shoulder’.
