The Godavari river in Bhadrachalam is overflowing due to heavy rains. The water level has increased from 20 feet on Tuesday evening to 28.9 feet at 1 pm on Wednesday. As a result, the gates of the projects in the upper areas are being lifted to release the flood water. Officials predict that the water level will continue to rise in the next 24 hours.

Due to the rising water level, most of the bathing ghats in Bhadrachalam have been submerged. To ensure safety, boards have been placed for devotees visiting Sri Ram to not go too deep while bathing. Officials are also warning people in low-lying areas to be cautious.
