Hyderabad: The Principal Secretary of the Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MA&UD) department, M Dana Kishore, has issued a strong warning to officials, stressing the importance of maintaining high sanitation and hygiene standards. He made it clear that any negligence in this area would lead to strict disciplinary action.

Dana Kishore recently inspected the ongoing construction of a cement concrete (CC) road, which is 800 meters long, from Bala Garden function hall to Gurram Cheruvu in Jalpally. The road construction is being funded by the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) with a budget of Rs 1.25 crore. He instructed the Municipal Commissioner, Vani, and Deputy Executive Engineer, Venkanna, to ensure that the road construction is completed quickly and meets high-quality standards.

Later, the Principal Secretary inspected the Gurram Cheruvu Road in Chandrayanagutta. He noticed that water pipes and unused toilets belonging to the Irrigation department were scattered in the area. In response, he directed South Zone Commissioner Venkanna and Chandrayanagutta Deputy Commissioner Surender to remove these items immediately.

Dana Kishore expressed concern about the garbage and waste present on both sides of the road. He emphasized the need for immediate action to clean the area, especially since the upcoming Balapur Ganesh immersion procession is scheduled to pass through the same road. He instructed the officers to ensure the route is cleaned up within the next two days.

He also urged the officials to focus on maintaining cleanliness and hygiene along the Balapur Ganesh immersion procession route, particularly on the road from Balapur X Road to DRDO. Additionally, he emphasized the importance of completing the pending CC and bituminous tarmac (BT) road works on this route as a priority.

Furthermore, Dana Kishore highlighted the need for permanent streetlights to be installed along the route. Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Sunitha suggested coordinating with municipal authorities to ensure all necessary arrangements are in place for a smooth and orderly immersion procession.
