    In Hyderabad, the Hyderabad Cyclists Group (HCG) along with the National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC) organized a cyclothon at Rashtrapati Nilayam. The event brought together around 1,000 cycling enthusiasts, environmentalists, students, and local residents to support a greener planet. Participants ranged from six years old to 80 years old.

    The cyclothon started at the President’s residence in Bollarum and ended at ECIL X Roads, covering a total distance of 11 km. During the event, participants took a pledge for environmental protection by holding placards. National Badminton coach Pullela Gopichand attended the event and commended the initiative to raise awareness for environmental conservation.

    After the cyclothon, attendees had the opportunity to visit Rashtrapati Nilayam, adding a touch of heritage appreciation to their fitness participation. The event aligns with President Droupadi Murmu’s vision to engage citizens and contribute meaningfully to heritage and environmental preservation efforts.

    Pullela Gopichand expressed his gratitude to those promoting environmental protection and commended Rashtrapati Nilayam officials for encouraging healthy habits like cycling. Ravinder Nandanoori, founder of HCG, shared the goal of creating a strong cycling community in Hyderabad and making it the cycling capital. The cyclothon showcased the power of cycling as participants of all ages joined in enthusiastically.
