    A bank manager in Nagarkurnool district fell victim to a cyber attack. The manager received what appeared to be account verification details from a private bank and unknowingly provided personal information like Aadhaar card and PAN card details through a link. The cyber criminals then created a fake account and the manager deposited money into it.

    Three days later, the money disappeared from the account and the manager received a phone call from an unknown person demanding more money. The fraudster threatened to send a morphed nude picture of the manager to 300 people in his contact list if payment was not made.

    Fearing for his reputation, the manager started paying the cyber criminals. He also received threats from other loan apps related to the incident. A case has been registered and investigations are ongoing with the cyber crime police involved. Despite this, the manager continues to receive calls from cybercriminals.

    The manager expressed regret for paying a total of 1 lakh 56 thousand rupees to the criminals, as he was too embarrassed to seek help. Police are warning the public to be cautious of cyber criminals in light of this incident.
