Cybercrime continues to cause major problems across India, with criminals stealing a shocking ₹22,812 crore in 2024 alone. Among the states, Telangana has become a major hotspot for these crimes, with 1,20,869 people falling victim to cyber fraud.
The state’s cybercrime police have been working hard to help those affected. In 17,912 cases, they managed to recover and refund a total of ₹183 crore to the victims. This has provided some relief to many who lost their money to scammers.
Authorities are warning that cybercriminals are using more advanced methods to trick people. These include phishing scams and fake financial transactions. Police are urging citizens to stay cautious, not share sensitive information online, and report any suspicious activities immediately.
Despite these challenges, Telangana’s cybercrime unit is standing out for its efforts. They are not only addressing these cases effectively but also ensuring justice for those who have been defrauded.
