Hyderabad: The Cyberabad police have announced guidelines for setting up shops to sell crackers for the upcoming Diwali festival. They have issued orders to ensure that all shops selling crackers follow proper rules.
The Deputy Commissioner of Police for each zone will be responsible for giving licences to those who want to sell crackers. These licences will be granted according to the Explosives Act of 1884 and the Explosives Rules of 1983, which were updated in 2008.
People who are interested in selling crackers must apply for a temporary licence using Form AE-5, which is part of the Explosives Rules. The deadline to submit applications is October 24. Any applications submitted after this date will not be accepted.
Applicants need to include several important documents with their application. These documents include a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the divisional fire officer, land permission from the GHMC (if it is government land), and an NOC or agreement from the landowner (if it is private land). If they had a licence last year, they can also include a copy of it, though this is optional. Additionally, they need an NOC from neighbors if the shop is in a permanent building and a blueprint of the shop’s layout.
These steps are being put in place to ensure that the sale of crackers is done safely and legally during the Diwali season.
