    Hyderabad: As part of Police Commemoration Week, an Open House event took place on Friday at the Cyberabad Parade Grounds. The purpose of the event was to teach students about the police force and how they work to keep the public safe.

    The event was inaugurated by DCP Srujana Karnam, who is part of the Women and Child Safety Wing (W&CSW) in Cyberabad. She spoke to the students, encouraging them to do well in school while also staying aware of societal issues. She also explained the importance of understanding how a police station operates and how the police ensure law and order in society.

    Around 1,200 students from different schools, junior colleges, and National Cadet Corps (NCC) units from five zones within the Cyberabad Police Commissionerate attended the event.

    One of the main attractions was the display of various weapons such as light machine guns, advanced rifles, and bomb detection devices. Police officers gave live demonstrations on how to handle and use these weapons correctly. The bomb disposal team showed their equipment, and sniffer dogs demonstrated how they detect explosives using their sense of smell. Additionally, a band drill took place, and the mounted police performed horse-riding demonstrations, making the event more engaging for the students.

    Overall, the Open House gave students a special chance to interact with the police, helping them better understand law enforcement and public safety. The event also highlighted the importance of building strong relationships between the police and the community, especially with the younger generation.
