    Cyberabad Police Commissioner Calls for Swift Action in Crime Cases

    The Cyberabad Police Commissioner, Avinash Mohanty, has stressed the importance of taking quick action in cases involving crimes against women and children. He particularly highlighted the urgency in handling kidnapping and missing person cases. The Commissioner urged officers to resolve long-pending cases and speed up investigations to deliver justice efficiently.

    On Tuesday, a crime review meeting was held at the Medchal DCP office to evaluate ongoing cases and improve crime prevention strategies in the Medchal Zone. During the meeting, Commissioner Mohanty directed officers to focus on pending cases, especially those under Section 174, and cases under investigation. He also emphasized the strict enforcement of the POCSO Act and gave priority to cases such as gang abductions, murders, snatching, and fraud.

    The Commissioner addressed the increasing threat of cybercrimes and urged the public to remain vigilant. He called for awareness campaigns to educate people about digital fraud and scams. Mohanty also emphasized the importance of using CCTV footage to gather evidence and improve conviction rates in cases involving property crimes, forgery, and drug-related offenses under the NDPS Act.

    The performance of the Special Operations Team (SOT) and Crime Control Station (CCS) was reviewed during the meeting. Officials were instructed to resolve Non-Bailable Warrants (NBWs) promptly and take firm action against repeat offenders by invoking the Preventive Detention (PD) Act. The Commissioner also stressed the need for better coordination with judicial officers to ensure charge sheets are filed on time.

    Several senior police officials attended the meeting, including Medchal DCP K Koti Reddy, DCP Crimes K Narasimha, W&CSW DCP Srujana Karnam, Cybercrimes DCP Sribaladevi, SOT DCP Srinivas, ADCPs, ACPS, and other police staff from the Medchal Zone, such as SHOs and SIs.
