Hyderabad: The Balanagar Special Operations Team, along with Balanagar police, arrested three men for transporting hashish oil from Odisha to Hyderabad. The police seized 2.590 litres of hashish oil, valued at Rs 12.95 lakh.
The three arrested individuals are Sabavath Suman (25), Ramavath Lalu (38), and Kethavath Vijay Kumar (32), all from Devarakonda in Nalgonda district. Police mentioned that all the accused had previously been involved in cases related to the NDPS (Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances) Act. A fourth person, Kiran from Jalaput town in Odisha, is currently on the run.
According to the police, Suman had earlier been arrested by Golugonda police in Andhra Pradesh in 2021. While serving time in Visakhapatnam jail, Suman met Kiran. After his release, Suman decided to get involved in drug peddling to make quick money. Vijay, one of the arrested men, was known to Suman and became part of the plan.
Suman asked Vijay to help find a buyer for either dry ganja or hashish oil. He then contacted Kiran to supply the hashish oil.
On October 27, Suman and Ramavath Lalu left from Polepally village, Devarakonda, on Suman’s bike, which did not have a number plate. They traveled to Paderu, where Kiran met them and handed over 2.59 litres of hashish oil. On October 31, following Vijay’s instructions, Suman and Ramavath went to Shobhana bus stop in Balanagar to look for a buyer in the Balanagar and Sanath Nagar areas. However, before they could make the sale, the police caught them.
