Hyderabad: A man has been arrested by the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) Police of Cyberabad for his involvement in forgery, cheating, and conspiracy. He allegedly collected money from customers by promising to sell plots in a fake and unauthorized layout in Vattinagulapally village. The total amount he collected was Rs 1.45 crore.

The arrested person is Kancharla Sathish Chandra Gupta, the owner of Sai Surya Developers. He is originally from Nellore district in Andhra Pradesh. According to the police, he has been involved in 11 other criminal cases using the same methods. This latest case was filed after a complaint from Pothuganti Gopal Reddy, a resident of Nacharam. The police charged him under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including 420 (cheating), 406 (criminal breach of trust), and 120 (B) (criminal conspiracy).

Sathish and another person, Narender Surana, the managing director of Bhagyanagar Properties Limited, worked together in this scam. They created a fake and unauthorized layout called Sai Tulasi Enclave-IV and Shanmukha Nivas on the same land in Vattinagulapally. They made an agreement to sell a plot for Rs 3.25 crore and took Rs 1.45 crore as an advance in February 2023. However, they never registered the plot and disappeared after taking the money.

The Cyberabad EOW police warned people to be cautious about unauthorized layouts and avoid falling victim to such fraud. They also assured the public that they are committed to prosecuting fraudsters and ensuring justice for victims.
