On Wednesday evening, MS Dhoni, the captain of Chennai Super Kings (CSK), arrived in Ahmedabad for the IPL 2023 season opener against defending champions Gujarat Titans. As expected, the CSK captain received a massive reception from fans outside the airport, who were eager to catch a glimpse of him in his smart tracksuit. Despite the overwhelming fandom, Dhoni managed to keep his cool and made his way to the team hotel with his CSK teammates. The Narendra Modi stadium is expected to be a full house on Friday when CSK takes on the home side. With the kind of welcome Dhoni received, it would be a massive celebration of cricket in Ahmedabad. Gujarat Titans have defeated Chennai twice in two games, and CSK would like to change that with a win to kickstart their campaign. During a recent net session, Dhoni was cautious and wore a camouflage kneecap to partially shield his left leg. After assessing his condition, he walked out to the nets with a roar from the crowd. The predicted playing 11 for Gujarat Titans includes Shubman Gill, Wriddhiman Saha, Kane Williamson, Hardik Pandya, Vijay Shankar, David Miller, Rahul Tewatia, Rashid Khan, Shivam Mavi, Mohammed Shami, and Joshua Little. The predicted playing 11 for Chennai Super Kings includes Devon Conway, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Moeen Ali, Shivam Dube, Ambati Rayudu, Ben Stokes, Ravindra Jadeja, MS Dhoni, Deepak Chahar, Mukesh Choudhary, and Matheesha Pathirana.
