    Hyderabad: The CSIR Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB) in Hyderabad is opening its doors to the general public for a week as part of the ‘One Week, One Lab’ initiative. The event will be inaugurated by Dr N Kalaiselvi, the director general of CSIR and secretary of DSIR. CCMB aims to showcase its research and technology development during this initiative. It also hopes to collaborate with industries for commercialization, identify potential industries for next-gen technology and products, and inspire young people to create startups.

    The event includes various activities such as a workshop with high school teachers to promote educational kits developed by CCMB, distribution of improved rice varieties to farmers through the genetic research facility, an interaction session between CCMB senior scientists and college students, and a consultative meeting on invasive species with forest and government officials.
