The Chief Secretary of Telangana, Santhi Kumari, has directed officials to prioritize the process of allotting lands for the establishment of rice mills within the next four to five months. She held a meeting with officials from the Industries department to review progress on the creation of special food processing zones in Telangana. The Chief Secretary emphasized that the vision of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao is to transform the state into a hub for food and agriculture by setting up food processing zones based on the demand and feasibility in each district. To promote food processing zones in seven areas with high potential and demand from investors, officials were directed to formulate a strategy. With increasing paddy production in the state, there is a need to establish rice mills in these food processing zones. The Chief Secretary urged officials to prioritize and complete the process of land allotment within the next four to five months. She also asked officials to take steps to operationalize the concept of setting up an Aqua Hub in the Mid Manair Reservoir.
