    On Saturday, Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari paid a surprise visit to the construction site of the tallest statue of Dr BR Ambedkar in Hyderabad. The statue, which is being built on the banks of the famous Hussain Sagar lake, will stand at 125-feet tall and is set to be unveiled on April 14 to mark the birth anniversary of Dr Ambedkar. Accompanied by Roads and Buildings Secretary Srinivasa Raju and ENC Ganapathi Reddy, Santhi Kumari inspected the progress of the construction works and ordered that all necessary works be completed by April 10.

    During her visit, the Chief Secretary also inspected the construction of a 100-seated capacity amphitheatre located at the bottom of the statue. She enquired about the progress of landscaping works and other civil works being set up in the precinct of the statue. Prior to this visit, Santhi Kumari also inspected the progress of construction work on the BR Ambedkar Secretariat.
