Gadwal: The Chief Secretary, Shanti Kumari, announced a new program called “Swacha dhanam, Pacha dhanam,” which will take place from August 5 to 9. This program aims to improve cleanliness and greenery in the state.
On Thursday, Chief Secretary Shanti Kumari held a video conference from Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Secretariat in Hyderabad. She discussed the details of the program with senior state officials and district collectors. District Collector B. Yam. Santosh and Additional Collector Narsing Rao joined the video conference from the District Collector’s office.
Shanti Kumari explained that the Swacha dhanam-Pacha dhanam program would be conducted in both villages and urban areas. The program will start on August 5 and focus on enhancing cleanliness and greenery. She recommended that every village and urban ward launch the program on the same day.
Special teams will be formed at the village and municipal ward levels to ensure the program’s success. Each team will have designated officers. In villages, the team will include the Panchayat Secretary, Special Officer, ASHA Worker, and other local staff. In urban wards, the team will consist of the local councilor, ward officer, and resource persons.
After the meeting, District Collector B. Yam. Santosh emphasized the importance of involving the public and local representatives. He suggested planting trees on a large scale and replacing dead plants in parks. Cleanliness activities should be carried out daily, including cleaning and chlorinating water tanks to provide clean drinking water.
Officials were advised to create an action plan involving all levels, from village to district, to ensure the program’s success.
The meeting was attended by various officials, including Zilla Parishad CEO Kanthamma, Horticulture Officer M.A. Akbar, District Medical Officer Siddappa, Mission Bhagiratha EE Sridhar Reddy, and several Municipal Commissioners.
