In Chilukur, located in the Kodad constituency, wells and boreholes are drying up due to the scorching summer heat. This has led to paddy fields drying up as well, forcing farmers to rely on water tankers to protect their crops.

One village in particular, Dudiya Thanda in Chilukur mandal, is facing severe water scarcity. A farmer named Hatiiya, who owns a 3-acre farm on the village outskirts, is struggling as his well has dried up and there is not enough water for a significant portion of his land. He has had to bring in water tankers from Kodad pond, located 10 km away, spending Rs 10,000 so far to irrigate his fields.

The situation is dire for many farmers like Hatiiya, as their crops are withering away without sufficient water. Only a few can afford to hire water tankers, leaving many at a loss on how to save their livelihoods.
