AGI Glaspac’s packaging division is a leading manufacturer of container glass in India, serving major pharmaceutical, cosmetics, beer, liquor, and soft drink brands. The company has two facilities in Hyderabad and Bhongir, aiming to support the global shift towards eco-friendly packaging alternatives.
Rrajesh Khosla, president and CEO of AGI Glaspac, mentioned that the company’s mission is to offer innovative and eco-friendly glass packaging solutions and become the preferred glass company. AGI designs glass creatively with its in-house design studio, mold manufacturing, and ACL (Applied Ceramic Labelling) facilities.
To enhance its production capabilities and cater to the increasing demand for high-quality glass packaging solutions, AGI is investing Rs 230 crore in modernizing its furnaces, adopting advanced technologies, and optimizing production processes. The company’s business units include AGI glaspac, sand dune, greendrop, AGI specialty glass division, AGI plastek, and AGI clozures.
The specialty glass plant in Bhongir, operational since January 2023, has a daily production capacity of 154 tonnes. This plant serves various industries such as cosmetics, perfumery, candle jars, and premium alcohol beverages. Utilizing state-of-the-art technologies like ‘blow and blow’ and ‘press and blow,’ the facility produces high-quality clear glass products in different shapes and sizes.
AGI manufactures a variety of glass products, including anti-depression bottles (negative ions) and anti-bacterial bottles, with a workforce of over 4,600 employees. The company is exploring export opportunities in the Middle East and Europe after establishing an export channel in the USA to meet the growing global demand for quality glass packaging.
AGI operates India’s first glass packaging R&D Centre to develop sustainable solutions and innovate new technologies like the energy-efficient multi-color cold foil stamping process. The company offers advanced processes like ceramic, UV, and hot-foil stamping to meet the changing needs of global cosmetics, perfumery, and beverage brands.
