Delhi is getting ready to host the G20 Leaders’ Summit, and they have set up a large International Media Centre in the Bharat Mandapam complex. This media center will be the main place where the G20 meetings will be broadcasted to the world. The center can accommodate over 3,000 media delegates and has various facilities like media lounges and interview booths. It will also have live stand-up positions for media personnel.

Minister Anurag Thakur reviewed the preparations at the media site and mentioned that the G20 Summit proceedings will be recorded using ultra high definition (UHD) and 4K broadcast technologies, which is a first for India. The media center will also have exhibitions showcasing India’s digital economy, culture, handicrafts, and artifacts. These exhibitions will highlight the “One District, One Product” initiative and the evolution of democracy in India.

One of the crafts that will be displayed is the Telia Rumal from Telangana. Telia Rumal is a type of cloth that is treated with sesame or castor oil before being dyed. This treatment gives the cloth a distinct smell and makes it water-repellent, making it useful for local fishermen. Another art form that will be showcased is Kalamkari from Andhra Pradesh, which involves painting or printing on cloth using vegetable dyes.
