The Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPM) in Hyderabad has decided to contest all 17 Lok Sabha constituencies in the state on its own. Jehangir has been chosen as the party’s candidate for the Bhongir Lok Sabha seat, and candidates for the other 16 constituencies will be announced soon.

Initially, CPM considered forming an alliance with the Congress for the state assembly elections last year. However, after multiple discussions, no agreement was reached on seat distribution, leading to a lack of unity between the parties.

On the other hand, the Communist Party of India (CPI) was satisfied with winning only one seat in the assembly elections through an electoral alliance with Congress. For the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, CPI has once again decided to align with Congress.
