A group from the Communist Party of India (CPI), led by State Secretariat Member Takkalapally Srinivas Rao, protested against the BJP-led Central government’s treatment of Telangana in the Union Budget 2024-25. The protest took place at Kaloji Centre in Hanumakonda on Wednesday.

During the protest, the group also burned an effigy of the Central Government. Rao expressed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has overlooked Telangana’s interests.

Rao mentioned that despite promises made to Telangana under the AP Reorganisation Act 2014, the state has been neglected for the past 10 years. He criticized Union ministers G Kishan Reddy and Bandi Sanjay for not pushing the Centre to establish a rail coach factory in Kazipet and a steel plant at Bayyaram.

According to Rao, the Union Budget prioritized the development of Bihar and Andhra Pradesh. He suggested that since the BJP did not win a full mandate in the recent Lok Sabha elections, it is now focused on maintaining its power.

Rao concluded that Telangana, along with other states, was unfairly treated in the budget. He warned that people are dissatisfied with the BJP and will respond appropriately.

Several leaders including Karre Bikshapathi, Siraboina Karnakar, Thota Bikshapathi, Maddela Yellesh, N Ashok Stalin, Utkuri Ramulu, Karre Laxman, Munigala Bikshapathi, Bashaboina Santhosh, Kottepaka Ravi, Jakku Raju Goud, Nimmala Manohar, Shankar Naik, Ramesh Deva, and Rama Devi were present at the protest.
