CPI cadres in Warangal, led by State Secretariat Member Takkalapally Srinivas Rao, held a rally as part of the weeklong celebration of the Peasants’ Armed Struggle. This rally took place on Wednesday.
The BRS and the BJP refer to September 17 as National Integration Day and Telangana Liberation Day, respectively. However, Takkalapally Srinivas Rao stated that the true significance of this day lies in Telangana’s merger with the Indian Union.
During the rally, Takkalapally accused Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao of going back on his word. He mentioned that KCR had promised to officially celebrate Liberation Day and erect statues of the leaders who led the armed rebellion but failed to follow through on these promises after becoming the chief minister.
Takkalapally also criticized the BJP for attempting to politicize the armed rebellion as a Hindu-Muslim conflict. He emphasized that it was the Communists who bravely fought against the despotic rule of the Nizam, leaving a lasting impact on every village in Telangana.
Takkalapally asserted that both the BRS and the BJP have no right to speak about Telangana Merger Day as they have not done anything significant for the people of Telangana. The article concludes by mentioning the presence of various CPI leaders at the rally.
