    The Work Integrated Learning Programmes (WILP) division of BITS-Pilani recently hosted a convocation for working professionals. A total of 7,514 individuals received degrees in 26 different programs, including 5,183 for MTech, 1,641 for MBA, 620 for BTech, and 70 for MSc.

    This convocation is considered to be one of the first of its kind in India, where a leading higher education institute in science, engineering, and management organized an event of this scale specifically for working professionals.

    Around 900 professionals attended the convocation in person at the Hyderabad campus to receive their degrees, while thousands of others received them virtually through the use of Metaverse technology, creating a near-realistic and immersive experience.

    The chief guest at the event was Dr. BVR Mohan Reddy, founder-chairman and board member of Cyient. In his speech, he emphasized the importance of lifelong learning and encouraged the graduates to have ambitious goals, strive for excellence, and not settle for mediocrity.

    Dr. Kumar Mangalam Birla, the chancellor of BITS Pilani, also shared a message with the graduates. He congratulated them on their achievements and encouraged them to dream big and make a difference in their respective fields.

    The convocation was attended by various esteemed individuals, including Prof. V Ramgopal Rao, vice-chancellor, and Prof G Sundar, director of off-campus programs and industry engagement at BITS-Pilani.
