The Ministry of Defence has approved the construction of elevated corridors on Defence lands, which will help solve traffic issues on routes from Hyderabad to Shameerpet and Hyderabad to Medchal. This development will also improve transportation routes towards north Telangana.

Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy met Defence Minister Rajnath Singh in Delhi on January 5 to request permission for the construction of elevated corridors across Defence lands. In response to the CM’s plea, the Centre issued orders for the construction of these corridors. The CM expressed gratitude to PM Modi, Singh, and Defence officials for allowing the development that will benefit Hyderabad.

The Centre has approved the allotment of 83 acres for a six-lane elevated corridor from Paradise Junction to Outer Ring Road Junction on Rajiv Road, connecting Hyderabad to Karimnagar-Ramagundam. Additionally, 56 acres of Defence land will be transferred for the construction of corridors totaling 18.30 km from Paradise Junction near Kandlakoya to ORR on the Nagpur Highway (NH-44).

The development of these corridors will improve the transport network in Nizamabad, Adilabad, Karimnagar, and Ramagundam districts. Traffic issues in Secunderabad will also be addressed, and the growth of the north side of the city will be promoted. The approval for using Defence lands removes obstacles for expanding national highways, according to officials.
