In Vijayawada, an Armed Reserve (AR) constable became a hero by rescuing a family from drowning on Sunday. The family, from Sivakodu village in Razole mandal of Konaseema district, was returning from a function in Rajamahendravaram when their car crashed into a motorcycle at Bellampudi in P.Gannavaram mandal. The impact caused the car to fall into a lake.
Nelli Srinivas, an AR constable working in the SP office of East Godavari district, happened to be passing by at that moment. Without hesitation, he jumped into the lake, opened the car doors, and saved all seven people inside one by one. The rescued individuals included Kasukurthi Bhaskara Sudhir kumar, his wife K Sindhu, their children Bhanu and Jayanshu, Sudhir’s mother K Parvathi, aunt Bikkina Suryakantham, and uncle Subbarayudu. Constable Srinivas received assistance from a volunteer named Laxman and other locals. YSRCP MLA K Chittibabu praised Srinivas for his courageous actions.
Additionally, it’s important to note that fleeing red sanders smugglers caused a fatal accident by ramming their vehicle into another one in Annamayya district. This incident resulted in the tragic death of an AR constable.
