AMARAVATI: Dr Narreddy Sunitha Reddy, daughter of late Dr YS Vivekanda Reddy, is set to join the Congress party in Andhra Pradesh. This news has caused a stir in the political landscape of the state, which is already charged due to the upcoming elections. Sunitha Reddy has been involved in a legal battle seeking the arrest of her cousin brother, YS Avinash Reddy, for his alleged role in her father’s death. On the other hand, her cousin sister, YS Sharmila, has become the APCC chief and is leading the Congress party against her brother, Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.
There were speculations that Sharmila would field Sunitha Reddy as a candidate either in Pulivendula as an MLA or in Kadapa as an MP in the upcoming elections. After her father’s tragic death in Pulivendula just before the Assembly elections in March 2019, Sunitha Reddy became actively involved in the case. She has provided vital information to the CBI, the investigating agency, at various stages of the investigation. Prior to her decision to join the Congress, Sunitha Reddy worked at Apollo hospitals in Hyderabad.
