A teacher from the tribal community in Adilabad, Athram Suguna, is being considered for the Lok Sabha seat. She received a phone call from the party’s State leadership about her name being cleared for the candidacy.

Suguna works as a contract teacher in a government school in Jainoor mandal and has been actively campaigning in different areas of the Adilabad constituency for the Congress party. She has the support of Minister Seethakka and reportedly received calls from the Chief Minister confirming her candidacy. However, there have been similar reports about other aspirants in the past.

Suguna and her husband, Athram Bhujanga Rao, are well-known figures in the Utnoor area. In 2020, they were booked under UAPA along with many others for allegedly being ‘maoist sympathizers’.
