The Congress party in Telangana is determined to come to power and is planning to use the upcoming Congress Working Committee meeting and a rally to showcase its commitment to the state. The meeting will be held on September 16, followed by the rally on September 17, which is also “Telangana National Integration Day”.

During the rally, the Congress party is expected to announce “Five Guarantee Schemes” similar to what they did in Karnataka before elections. Former AICC president Sonia Gandhi will announce these schemes, which aim to provide guarantees to women, youth, poorer sections, farmers, SC, and ST communities. The AICC is currently finalizing these schemes in consultation with the TPCC and they are expected to cost Rs 50,000 crore annually to the state exchequer.

The Telangana Congress wants to assure every voter that these promises are not empty and will be the main agenda for the party in the upcoming elections. TPCC president A Revanth Reddy stated that on the Telangana National Integration Day, the Congress will highlight how they played a role in liberating Hyderabad state from the Nizam’s rule. They will also honor families of leaders who fought for the liberation of Telangana. The TPCC is making efforts to ensure that the CWC meeting is a grand success.

Congress general secretary K C Venugopal announced that on September 17, an extended CWC meeting will be held, including all Pradesh Congress Committee chiefs. It is worth mentioning that the Bharatiya Janata Party also held its national executive meeting last year in July, which was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
