Tension escalated in Siddipet on Friday night when Congress activists attacked the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) office. In response, BRS members organized a rally, demanding strict action against those responsible for the attack.

The Congress workers not only vandalized the BRS office but also targeted the camp office of former minister and MLA T Harish Rao. This incident occurred amidst growing political tension, following Harish Rao’s challenge to the Congress party. He had dared the Congress to implement its promised six guarantees and 420 assurances, including farm loan waivers, by August 15, and even offered to resign if they succeeded.

A group of Congress activists, led by constituency in-charge Hare Krishna, stormed Harish Rao’s camp office. They allegedly broke down the gate and tore down banners featuring Harish Rao’s image. The attackers also shouted slogans, accusing Harish Rao of failing to fulfill his promises.

Harish Rao condemned the attack, calling it undemocratic. He criticized the police for allegedly protecting the attackers instead of stopping them. Rao expressed concern about the safety of citizens, questioning how they could feel secure if even an MLA’s office was not protected.

He demanded immediate action from the Director General of Police (DGP) to address the situation. Harish Rao further expressed his outrage on social media, describing the attack as an alarming display of lawlessness. He pointed out that the destruction of government property in the presence of the police is utterly unacceptable, and urged the DGP to take swift action.
