Congress Stages Protest Demanding Amit Shah’s Removal

In Hyderabad, the Congress party organized a massive protest rally named ‘Chalo Collectorate,’ demanding the removal of Union Home Minister Amit Shah from the Union Cabinet. The rally began at Ambedkar’s statue on Tank Bund and proceeded to the Hyderabad Collectorate. This protest was part of a nationwide campaign against what the Congress called Amit Shah’s ‘insulting’ statements about Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. Party leaders also submitted memoranda to district collectors across Telangana, addressed to the President of India, urging Amit Shah to issue a public apology. Prominent leaders like MP M Anil Kumar Yadav, TPCC Working President M Anjan Kumar Yadav, AICC National Coordinator Koppula Raju, former MP V Hanumantha Rao, and many party activists participated in the rally.

Speaking at the event, Congress leader Mahesh Kumar Goud demanded that Prime Minister Narendra Modi immediately remove Amit Shah from his position. He accused the BJP government of attempting to alter the Indian Constitution and stated that Amit Shah’s remarks had exposed the BJP’s true intentions. Goud alleged that the BJP and RSS were working to replace the Constitution with the ‘Manusmriti’ and were trying to rewrite history to erase the contributions of leaders like Mahatma Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru. He emphasized that such efforts would fail because these leaders are deeply respected by the people of India.

The TPCC president also pointed out that Amit Shah’s comments had hurt the sentiments of those who respect Dr. Ambedkar. He criticized Prime Minister Modi for supporting Amit Shah instead of taking action against him. “By backing Amit Shah, Modi has shown that he does not believe in the Constitution either,” he said. The Congress leader further argued that it was inappropriate for someone in a position like the Home Minister to insult a revered figure like Ambedkar. He accused the BJP of undermining the Constitution, which is the foundation of democracy and public representation in India.
