The Congress party’s decision regarding the Secunderabad ticket has stirred speculation as sitting MLA Danam Nagender resists stepping down despite a directive from K C Venugopal six days ago. Venugopal had given Nagender 24 hours to resign, but the MLA has not complied.

Sources suggest that there might be a change in the Secunderabad candidate, with names being considered and screened by Harish Choudhary, Vishwajeet Kadam, and Jignesh Mevani. Among the names making rounds are C A Venu Gopal Swamy and former mayor Bonthu Ram Mohan.

While the seats for Hyderabad, Karimnagar, and Khammam are yet to be announced officially, an unexpected development occurred today. Despite no formal announcement from the party, Velichala Ram Chander Rao filed nomination papers as the Congress candidate from Karimnagar. Notably, he was accompanied by Transport Minister Poonam Prabhakar.
